Exe installation is found.Double click it.

Choose your language.English is my choice here.

Simit installation screen is shown.
Sometime a restart operation is need in Siemens software Installation.
After a restart, the installation will automatically start.
Choose your Language and choose Next>.
Choose which version that you need to install and Next>.
Accept the license terms and Next>.
Agree the Security Controls in your OS.
Install.
It will take around 20 minutes.
Finished! A restart operation is needed.
Coupling with OPC UA Server
Finally, I will show you how to create an OPC UA Server in SIMIT and connect it with UaExpert.Sorry I do not have license, Demo version is only available in my tutorial.
Click the SIMIT SP Demo to start SIMIT software.
Software has started!
Create a new project
Let’s create a new project by Project>New project.
Enter your project name and create.
A new Project is created!
OPC UA coupling
Open the Couplings tab and Click “New coupling”.
Coupling is a connection between SIMIT and your devices.
Select OPC UA Server and OK.
Node Configuration
Now we can create some Nodes inside the Server.
Double click the “OPC UA Server”.
Because the demo version is used here.
A Warning popup is shown to inform the user of the limit of the demo version to the user.
- Max 30 signals can be used
- Totolly <30 bytes
- The Model that was created in the Demo version can not be imported to the licensed version.
This is the OPC UA Node Configuration screen.
Inputs and outputs are the view by the devices.
Inputs=Nodes with Output Data in SIMIT
Outputs=Nodes with Input Data From Devices.
There are 3 Data types here,Binary,Integer and analog.
- Binary=Bool Type
- Integer=32/64 bit Integer
- Analog=32/64 Float
Start Your Demo!
Press the start to run your Demo project.
Because the demo version is used here.
A Warning popup is shown to inform the user of the limit of the demo version to the user.
- Only 45 mins limited.
- Snapshots can not created and loaded.
Press Save.
SIMIT is changed to Simulation mode.
You can find the server URL inside the software.
Test with UaExpert
Open the UaExpert and Add a server.
Go to Custom Discovery>Double Click to Add Server.
Enter the OPC UA URL that you find in the SIMIT software.
Good!Server is found.
Choose None-None(uatcp-uasc-uabinary) as the Authenticate method and OK.
Server is added.
Right Click and Connect.
a folder with urn:your server name is shown.
Open the InSimitOpcInt and OutSimOpcInt folder.
The Node that you created in SIMIT is found here.
Drop these nodes into the Data Access view.
The connection status and value are shown for each nodes.
Input some values to the output nodes.
And you can check the value in the SIMIT software.
