In this article, I will introduce the e!COCKPIT tool installation required to program the Wago CPU 750-8215, detect the CPU using the Scan function from e!COCKPIT, and how to solve the “Unknown Devices” error.

Access this link to Start the Registration.

Enter your personal information to register an account.
Press the submit button to finish the registration.
An Email from wago is sent to your mailbox.
Click the Download Button at the end of your email.
A Zip file is downloaded.
e-COCKPIT Installation
Click the e!COCKPIT_setup.exe to start the installation.
Choose English>OK.
Next>.
Agree the License and Next>.
Next>.
Install!

Login with Web Server
Wago 750-8215 CPU is used in my tutorial and we connected the LAN with X1 Port1.
The default setting is 0.0.0.0 and we can use the DHCP server to configure the IP address.
This DHCP server is used in my tutorial:
Open your browser and enter Https://your_Ip.
Enter your username and password.
Here is the default setting:
Admin:
Username:admin
Password:wago
User:
Username:user
Password:user
After your first login, a warning screen is shown to inform you to Change the Admin Password.Press “Change now” to modify your password.
Web server is shown!
Start!
Lauch the e!COCKPIT Software.
Please wait a minute..
Press the “Continue evaluation” button to activate the Trial License.
E!COCKPIT needs some time to import the Device Description file.
Press Yes to enable the Auto updates features.
Done!
Create Project
Click the “Empty Project” to create a new project.
E!COCKPIT Screen Editor is shown.
Scan
Connect the LAN port with 750-8215 and use E!COCKPIT to scan the CPU.
Go to NETWORK Tab>Settings.
We need to configure the Start address and the End address in here – it means the IP address range that you would like to scan.
And we will scan the Range from 192.168.3.1 to 192.168.3.254.
Click the Scan Button to search the 750-8215 CPU.

An Unknown device with Red color is shown.
Double Click the Devices and a Product Catalog update is necessary. Click the Product Catalog button to update your Catalog.
Update
The Product Catalog is shown.
Click the “Update & Add-ons” button and update all CPU Firmware Catalog.
Let’s scan the device again and you can see the CPU now!
