This is a new series of articles on the Keyence Safety Controller GC-1000. We will start with the basics such as installing engineering tools, creating a new project, and initializing the CPU.

GC-1000?
The GC Series is a Solution that integrates all safety devices into one compact, easy-to-use system. Whether you need a few simple safety devices or complex safety setup needs, the GC Series can accommodate your needs.
Any safety device can be connected to this series, and the new GC-Link can be used to completely eliminate wiring.
The GC can be expanded to a maximum of 212 inputs and can optionally incorporate relay outputs.

This is the Layout for GC-1000.
Download
To use CG1000, you need GC Configurator, so please download the tool from the link below.
Install
Unzip the Zip File that was just downloaded from Keyence HP.
Run the setup.exe file inside.
Proceed with Next>.
Accept the license and proceed with Next>.
Proceed with Next>.
Start the installation of the tool with Install.
Just a second..
The Keyence USB Driver installation screen will appear on the way and proceed with Next>.
Done!Keyence USB Driver was also installed together.
That is OK.
Launch Application
After installation is complete, start GC Configurator.
CG Configurator has been Started!
Create new file
Create a new project with Create a new configuration file.
The hardware selection screen appears.
This article will use GC-1000, so choose GC1000 > enter Project Name > Ok to proceed.
Read out unit Configuration
Or you can get the CPU model directly from the hardware: connect the USB to the CPU and click on Read out unit Configuration.
Done!Unit type was obtained.
Configurator automatically selected GC-1000, Standard Mode.
Create a new project with Ok.
Done!New projects have been added.
Clear
Before starting a new project, it is better to do a Factory Reset of the hardware to reduce the number of problems.
Initialize all settings to initialize GC-1000.
The Default Password for GC-1000 is 1111.
